Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Youth Coordinator to lead and support youth programmes within our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing activities aimed at engaging young people in positive and developmental experiences. This role requires strong leadership, organisational skills, and a passion for community development. The Youth Coordinator will work closely with various stakeholders to promote youth participation, organise events, and foster a safe and inclusive environment for all participants. Provide targeted support when problems emerge, preventing the need for more specialist services further down the line. Act as the lead professional where there are multiple and complex needs. Much of the work will be delivered during evenings and weekends and the postholder will be required to be on-call for the sessional Youth Engagement Workers. To establish and develop collaborative working arrangements with universal, community partners and key partner agencies such as Early Help, Children and Social Care, Education, Health, Police, Probation, Youth Custody Services, Courts and voluntary sector organisations and to undertake the role of Appropriate Adult (PACE) when required. To manage a group of staff including formal supervision, workload management, performance appraisal, staff training and development, and the maintenance of professional standards of competence and conduct To provide support and challenge for practitioners working with vulnerable children, young people and families, and where necessary make timely referrals to appropriate services  ensuring there are accurate records of work undertaken on the specified management information system. To promote strength-based practice methods to improve engagement with children and families that enhance outcomes for children and their families and help to make positive change in their lives by using systemic intervention methods, models, and tools, with the aims of helping them to be as independent as possible and to reduce risk of harm and increase safety and wellbeing. To make professional judgements in the context of the relevant legal and policy frameworks particularly around risk, thresholds, and information sharing. To gather information, analyse and assess to manage risk, re-offending and safety/wellbeing accurately using appropriate screening and assessment tools; taking necessary measures to ensure welfare needs are dealt with effectively and public protection considerations are appropriately managed.

To undertake the full range of assessment, care planning and reviewing activity in relation to children in need and looked after and formulate recommendations for support plans. This will include a. Influencing change in the lives of children and families through relationship-based work d. Practice that is demonstrably evidence-informed e. Work that evidences sound decision-making, that is done with an appropriate level of independence and autonomy f. Co-ordinating work across networks, communities and agencies g. Taking the initiative, to form constructive alliances and to act as a change agent h. Applying skills appropriately around management of self and professional identity i. Working with appropriate independence, which will involve collaborating on equal terms with members of other professions 3. To undertake complex assessment work including Child Protection investigations and related duties. 4. To prepare applications and reports for court and to represent the Council at court in relation to this.Make recommendations to the Council to consider legal action, where appropriate. 5. To develop, implement and review casework plans with a range of children in need in accordance with legislation, best practice and Council policies and procedures. 6. To keep accurate records in accordance with policy, good practice and national standards. 7. To develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of legislation and regulations and departmental procedures relating to working with children. 8. To participate in training and development activities as agreed by line manager. 9. To attend, prepare for and make constructive use of supervision and appraisal meetings with line manager. 10.
